The Mini-14 is a Civilian rifle in Apocalypse Rising 2.
Information
Designed by Ruger in the 1960s for sporting usage, the Mini-14 was based on the larger M14 battle rifle then in service with the U.S. military. Several Mini-14 variants have been produced, with a wide variety of calibers, furniture materials, and barrel lengths offered. The Mini-14 was not widely adopted by military units, but it was used by the Royal Bermuda Regiment from 1983 to 2016 instead of the standard SA80 used by the rest of the British Army.
Gameplay
The Mini-14 boasts average damage and exceptional velocity, two features that render it best suited for mid-range engagements. It is commonly used to kill players who are looting or who are caught off-guard/distracted. Oddly, the Mini-14 features the highest muzzle velocity of all weapons in the game, although this feature is rarely taken advantage of due to its high drop-off and low accuracy at range.

Cons
- Sluggish rate of fire.
- Iron sights are obstructive and having a barrel attachment such as the Oil Filter can make them even worse to use.
Obtainment
The Mini-14 can be found in civilian areas and Civilian Weapon Cases. It is also a guaranteed drop from the purple Infected Balaclava Bandit at the Balaclava Bandits Truck random event.
Trivia
- The Mini-14 in-game appears to be based on the "Ranch Rifle" model, designed with wooden furniture and a slightly shorter barrel. However, the Ranch Rifle cannot support attachments, meaning that the weapon has been modified after-market or was given attachment slots for balance purposes.
