The radio has the ability to lower and increase the volume as it can be seen by 5 blocks at the bottom of the radio button below the group button

Lore
Having the Personal Radio on, and being near Trinity HQ will release a message in code and random letters which translates to:

"We are no longer alive STOP this message will play every hour if operators are no longer responsive STOPMESSAGE unable to quarantine subject change STOPMESSAGE..."
Although this is considered an Easter Egg, Apocalypse Rising 1 doesn't have any "real lore", if anything.
This does not concern with any lore in Apocalypse Rising 2, and fully relates to the zombie outbreak and info about Patient 0 in AR1.
Trinity HQ does not exist in Apocalypse Rising 2, different universe.
